Coplay Garden Club will meet 7 p.m. April 28 at St. John’s Lutheran Church hall, South Third Street.
The club’s members keep several sites in the borough green and colorful with flowers, such as Coplay Public Library, the tot lot at the new mini-park at Second and Chestnut streets and along the Ironton Rail Trail.

Don’t put your old tires out at curbside for borough refuse trucks to pick up on garbage days. The borough has its annual tire drop-off program May 7.
This year, the location has changed. The new site is at the bottom of Bridge Street, off of North Front Street and Coplay-Northampton Bridge. It is property the borough recently purchased from General Supply Company.
There is no fee to drop off used tires. Tires from large trucks, motorcycles, ATVs and bicycles will not be accepted.

There are big changes proposed for Sammy Balliet Stadium, home of Coplay American Legion baseball, such as an electronic lighted scoreboard.
One current change residents have taken notice to are the absence of the large, towering wooden light poles. For decades, the stadium was one of the first ballfields to have lights for night games. New lights are a project the new committee wants to tackle. The committee is actively looking for available funding.
On the lower end of the grounds, where Coplay Sports Inc. boys baseball and girls softball games are played, there are lights for night games.
