Upper Macungie Township police have joined the ranks of other Lehigh Valley police departments targeting aggressive driving on the region’s highways.
Sgt. Dathan Schlegel and Officer Robert Djevharian used an electronic speed detection device along Route 222 South, at the Trexlertown Road South intersection to document the speed of passing traffic.
Enradd, an electronic non-radar device, uses lasers to quickly and accurately determine the speed of any passing vehicle.
Soon after setting up Enradd and a notification flag of the aggressive enforcement program, a driver was stopped for traveling 67 mph along the 45 mph roadway.
Upper Macungie Township Police Sgt. Dathan Schlegel confirms over the radio with Officer Robert Djevharian the Enradd setup is complete.PRESS PHOTO BY LOU WHEELAND
