Louise May Lewers, 91, from Allentown, died peacefully on April 12, 2016, surrounded by family, in Cedarbrook Fountain Hill.

She was the wife of the late William L. Lewers who died in 1988.

Born in Lehighton, one of six children, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Della May (Boyer) Begel.

A 1942 graduate of Lehighton High School, prior to retiring, she was employed by the Allentown School District in food service.

She loved to travel and take pictures.

Her survivors include a daughter Jeannette May Lewers-Kost and husband, Stanley P., of Fort Collins Colo.; grandchildren Stefanie A. Pawley of Elizabethtown, Ky., Cory G. and wife, Wendy L., of Lehighton; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

She was predeceased by a son, William R.
