Kermit E. DeLong Sr. 93, of New Tripoli, died April 8, 2016, at Above and Beyond, Allentown.
He was the husband of the late Gloria W., Helen and Mary Jane Delong.
Born July 3, 1922, in Vera Cruz, he was the son of the late Melvin and Verna (Searl) DeLong.
He was a self-employed building contractor trading as KetMar Homes in the Lehigh Valley for 50 years before retiring.
He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
His survivors include children Dianne M. Huber (H. David) of Germansville, Barbara L. Wambold (Ronald Sr.) of New Tripoli, Ronald K. DeLong of Slatington, Kermit E. DeLong, Jr. (Elaine) with whom he resided, Kathleen M. Fetherolf (Daniel) and John M. DeLong (Patrice), both of Germansville, Brian M. DeLong (Nicky) of Coopersburg, Michele Lonetti (Rocky) of Quakertown; siblings Theodore Delong, Joyce Pike, Melvin DeLong, and Malcolm DeLong, all of Allentown; 12 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his grandson Ronald F. Wambold Jr., great-grandson Alex D. Huber and a sister, Edna Held.
