LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

Fullerton: St. John’s planning community event

On June 5, St. John’s United Church of Christ, 575 Grape St., will celebrate its annual Celebrate Community event. This event is open to the community of Whitehall with a lot of free family fun.

This year, the committee will be honoring and remembering veterans. A memorial tribute wall will be created and displayed at the community celebration. Members of the community can begin purchasing a star(s) for the wall to honor and remember someone close to their heart.

The stars will be sold the month of April and come in two sizes: smaller stars with a name, $2; and larger stars with a name and photo, $5. All proceeds will benefit homeless veterans.

After the event, the wall will be displayed in the church throughout the month of June.

For either star size, print the name of the person you wish to honor/remember. If you would like your photo returned, put your name on the back of the photo and include a self-addressed, stamped envelope by May 1. Mail your check (or check and photo) to the church, c/o Lori Silfies Veterans Community Celebration or drop it off at the church office.

For questions, call Silfies at 610-653-4676.
