Althea M. Handwerk, 81, a resident of Whitehall Manor, formerly of Slatington, died April 9, 2016, in the Inpatient Hospice Unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown.

She was the wife of the late Kenneth H. Handwerk.

Born July 18, 1934, in North Whitehall Township, she was the daughter of the late Raymond P. and Ursula B. (Newhard) Krause.

She was a secretary at the former Kruper Bros., Northampton, early in her married life.

She was a member of Union Evangelical Lutheran Church, Schnecksville, and the former Ladies Auxiliary of the Laurys Station Fire Company.

Her survivors include a daughter, Donna M., wife of Curtis D. Kleintop of Slatington; and grandsons Ryan and Eric.

A private funeral service will take place in Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., Schnecksville, with the Rev. Dennis W. Moore officiating.

There will be no public calling hours.

Interment will follow the service at Union Church Cemetery, Neffs.
