William D. Hartman

William D. Hartman, 71, of New Tripoli, died on March 29, 2016, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, surrounded by family and friends after a long struggle with pulmonary disease.

He and his wife Nancy J. (Derr) Hartman were married 54 years on March 17.

Born Feb. 10, 1945, in Lebanon, he was the son of the late Marvin and Ernestine (Kohler) Hartman.

He actively volunteered as an emergency medical technician for the former Northwestern Ambulance Corps for 30 years.

He formerly taught advanced first aid and CPR to the community.

He was employed at the former Kemps Gulf and Wolff Petroleum as a “Jack of all trades … master of none!”

His hobbies included hosting foreign exchange students, and giving his opinion, solicited or not. He had a passion for baking.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by daughters Justine A. Herrlinger and Sherrie D. Fenner and her husband, Robert, all of New Tripoli; siblings James of Allentown, Kerry and his wife, Cookie, of Palm Harbor, Fla., and Deborah Wagner and her husband, William, of Allentown; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by an infant son, William, and a sister, Sherie Keeney.
