Forty-five acts are scheduled for this weekend’s telethon benefiting the American Cancer Society.
Acts include singers, dancers, rock and polka bands and a karate demonstration.
A Salute to Survivors segment is scheduled for 7 p.m. April 9.
During this segment, survivors will be introduced and encouraged to talk briefly about their battle with cancer.
A new memorial segment has been added for 6 p.m. April 10.
Area residents may send in digital images (jpegs) of friends and family members who have lost their fight with cancer to Cancertelethon@gmail.com.
The 24-hour program will air noon to midnight both Saturday and Sunday.
Service Electric Cable viewers can see the telethon on Channels 2 and 50.
The program originates at Penn’s Peak, Jim Thorpe.
Audience participation is encouraged. Admission is free.
