Hilda C. Hoffman, 93, of Allentown, died April 4, 2016, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

She was the wife of the late Victor E. Hoffman who died in 1997.

Born May 14, 1922, in Hollenbach Township, Luzerne County, she was the daughter of the late Parvin A. and Hazel E. (Garrison) Moyer.

She was valedictorian of her high school class and graduated as a registered nurse from Geisinger Nursing School.

A member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Laurys Station, she was also a member of the Keenagers Senior Citizens group, the Northampton AARP, and an auxiliary member of Northern Valley EMS.

Her survivors include children Eleanor J. Swogger (James) of Schnecksville, Donald P. Hoffman (Donna) and James E. Hoffman (Debra), all of Northampton, Jerry L. Hoffman (Judith) of New Ringgold; Joyce I. Edgar (Charles) of Allentown, Nancy A. McDonough (Daniel) of Audubon; daughter-in-law Susan E. Hoffman of Slatington; siblings Guida Hoffman of Mountaintop, Alverna Rospendowski and Leon Moyer, both of Wapwallopen; 16 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a son, Robert C., who died in 2002.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. April 9 St. John’s UCC, 1415 Rising Sun Road, Laurys Station, with the Rev. Dr. James T. Gottwald officiating.

Family and friends may pay their respects 7-8:30 p.m. Friday in Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville, and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday in the church.

Interment will follow the service in the adjacent church cemetery.
