Wiik’s hits beat Blue Bombers

Northwestern

Tyler Wiik drove in the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning as Northwestern edged Palmerton, 6-5.

Wiik, who also smacked a three-run double in the bottom of the sixth inning to give the Tigers a lead, finished the game with four RBIs. Tyler Schreiner was 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored, while teammate Jake Augustus was also 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored.

Wilson-N’western

The Northwestern girls dominated Wilson in Colonial League track, 122-28, while the Tiger boys dropped a tough 93.5-56.5 decision to their foes.

Individually, the Lady Tigers saw Stacy Everett pick up two wins in the 100 hurdles and the high jump, while 10 other teammates managed to win their events.

Meanwhile, for the boys, Trevor Cunningham (100, 300 hurdles) and Chet Karpyn (shot put, discus) were double event winners for the locals.
