As we welcome April, the Salisbury Township schools are very busy with activities and field trips.
This past week I had the pleasure of going with the Harry S Truman Elementary School fourth grade class to Harrisburg. I must say, they were a well behaved group and represented the school well.
April also means the Pennsylvania System of School Assessment tests are upon us. All students in grades three through eight will take these assessment tests.
English assessments are April 12; math assessments will follow beginning April 19. In addition, students in fourth and eighth grades will take science assessments beginning April 25. Help your child to do their best by ensuring a good night’s sleep and a good breakfast. Students are encouraged to do their best; however, it is important not to stress them out over the assessments.
The HST first and second grade spring concert will be held 2 p.m. April 7. Please try to come out and support your children in these grades. They’ve been working very hard.
On April 8, the HST PTO will hold a candy bingo 6:30 to 8 p.m. Look for more information to be sent home with your student. This is always a great time.
April 8 also marks the end of the third marking period for Salisbury Middle School and Salisbury High School students. This year continues to fly by.
The next school board meeting will be held in the administration building 7:30 p.m. April 13.
The Franko Farm yard waste drop off site will be open 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 9 and 12.
