Elsie A. Cassidy, 92, of Bethlehem, died March 21, 2016. She was a daughter of the late John and Mary (Skerlak) Zelko. She was the wife of the late Richard A. Cassidy Sr.

She worked as a nurse’s aide. She then worked for 10 years in the billing department of the Bethlehem Steel Corporation. She was a clerk with the Sears catalog department until she retired after 10 years.

She was a parishioner of Ss. Simon and Jude Catholic Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Carol and her husband, Edward Merwarth Jr. of Bethlehem; two sons, Richard Jr., who was the husband of the late Lynn Cassidy of Harleysville, and John and his wife Nancy of Bethlehem; a sister, Mary Repsher of Bethlehem; and several grandchildren, Kristen and Matt Boyer of Wind Gap, Craig Merwarth of West Chester, Jeremy Merwarth of Bethlehem, Richard and Kristin Cassidy of North Carolina, Lauren and Chris Kelly of Bethlehem, Brendan Cassidy of Bethlehem, Katie and John Buco of California and Kelly and Leo Solomon of California; and five great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by two brothers, Edward and Rudy Zelko; and two sisters, Irene Zelko and Agnes Kost.
