Homer S. Heilman, 94, of Allentown, died March 24, 2016, in Lehigh Valley Hospital Inpatient Hospice Unit, Allentown.
He and his wife Elizabeth M. (Gerhard) Heilman were married 73 years last May.
Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Oscar J. and Blanche (Mohr) Heilman.
A graduate of Muhlenberg College, he earned his Master’s degree from Lehigh University.
He was the general manager of Eastern Industries Concrete Division for 20 years.
Prior to that, he owned Heilman’s Market, Fogelsville, from 1947-53.
A member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Fogelsville, he was past president of the consistory.
Also a member of the Parkway Manor Lions Club, he loved to fish and hunt.
He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters Barbara E., wife of Enrico Gava, of Allentown, Kathryn M., wife of Stanley Stauffer, of Macungie, and Jane A., wife of Bernard Corriveau, of Allentown; grandchildren Andrea, Susan, Elizabeth and Timothy; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Deborah.
