Coplay: Trout season begins April 2
Saturday is the first day of trout season, and this weekend will certainly be busy for the owners of Coplay News Agency Live Bait & Tackle Shop. Located at Second and Coplay streets, the shop is one of the busiest in the region.
Anglers, grownups and children, flock the store throughout the night Friday and early Saturday, buying everything from boots, fishing rods, minnows and bait, before dropping their lines into creeks, lakes and rivers in the area.

Coplay Recreation & Welfare Association will again conduct its annual fund drive in June, a practice it had for decades until more recently, when the drive was held as late as September.
The association sponsors the community Halloween parade, Easter egg hunt and community Christmas tree lighting and concert. It serves residents’ convalescent needs and operates the food bank.

The borough expects to purchase two speed display signs and post them along various roads. The signs will display motorists’ speed traveled in green, yellow and red colors - green if the vehicle is compliant with the speed limit, yellow if it is approaching the speed limit and red if it has exceeded the speed limit.
Chestnut, Second and Hokendauqua streets could be possible locations for the signs.
