Zack Noonan, of Kutztown a mathematics major, was named to USA Cycling’s Collegiate Academic All-Star’s spring 2015 class, at Fort Lewis College, Durango, Colo.
The spring 2015 class of riders is composed of 79 riders from 15 different schools; 16 of these riders are from Fort Lewis College.
All collegiate cyclists face the challenge of balancing school while racing, and the Academic All-Star program seeks to recognize those who go above and beyond by achieving top grades in the classroom while also competing at USA Cycling Collegiate National Championships.
In order to achieve Academic All-Star status, the athlete must have attended a USA Collegiate Cycling National Championship in the specified term for that honor and have maintained a 3.5 or higher grade point average for the semester or term during which the nationals event falls.
