Althea E. Schiffer, 88, formerly of Schnecksville, died March 20, 2016, in Fellowship Manor, Whitehall.

She was the wife of the late Clarence H. Schiffer.

Born March 29, 1927, in Ballietsville, she was the daughter of the late Robert E. and Maggie E. (DeLong) Lapp.

She was a sewing machine operator at various textile mills in the Lehigh Valley before retiring.

Prior to that, she worked for the former Allen Laundry in Allentown.

She was a member of Union United Church of Christ, Neffs.

Her survivors include daughters Dianne S. Heyer and her husband, John, of Orefield, Connie L. Dise and her husband, Kenneth, of Allentown, Gail A. Gerlach and her husband, Russell, of Schnecksville; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
