LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

Article By: Moravian Academy news Isabelle Weiman-Spring play April 15

Spring break seems to have come just in time this year; the student body (and I daresay a fair percentage of teachers) was hanging on by its fingernails up until the last moment of classes March 18. Now, tanner and more rested, we are ready to return to school with a new sense of purpose. Or at least, that’s what we are supposed to feel as we find ourselves back at ‘ol MA on March 29.

The winter musical “Big Fish” premiered this season and was a huge success. Noah Ruebeck, grade 12, brought the house to its knees in his final scene as Edward Bloom. The audience was so moved that the concessions stands started selling Kleenex along with the candy and drinks. Three full house performances later and the school community is still reminiscing over the fantastic performance.

The spring play has started to rehearse in preparation of the performances which will begin April 15. The play is a modern adaptation of Henrik Ibsen’s “An Enemy of the People” by our very own Stephen Molloy. Revealing of the human condition while possessing a comedic air at times, the play is sure to be a remembered performance. We look forward to great show!

The winter sports season has come to an end and spring sports teams are beginning to practice. Although many athletes were grumbling upon their brief return to gym class in between sports seasons, we are all excited to see what this sports season holds in store.

The warmer weather brings talk of epic promposals and summer plans, but this brief moment of pause before the end is what we must remember to cherish. Seniors, who depart in late May for their post-term assignments, will remember this time as one of easiness and joy before preparing for the greatest change they have yet to face. We will enjoy our last few months at Moravian for this academic year, enjoying the warmer weather and trying to end the year at our best.
