SMS teacher Matt Tobias is asking for donations for items needed for a Makerspace they are developing. A Makerspace provides “hands-on, creative ways to encourage students to design, experiment, build and invent as they deeply engage in science, engineering and tinkering.”

Tobias said he wants students to have these opportunities and needs the following items: legos, K’Nex, popsicle sticks, paint brushes, pingpong balls, scissors, electric drill, duct tape, small old toys with wheels, electronic toys (may be broken), screwdrivers, wire cutters, a ratchet set, soldering gun, coping saw, label maker, dremel, batteries (new only), hammers, wire strippers, monkey wrench, awl, drill bits, jigsaw, needle-nose pliers, toilet paper rolls and paper towel rolls. Questions should be directed to Tobias at mtobias@salisburysd.org or call 610-791-0830, ext. 3111.

Now that warmer weather is here, the Franko Farm yard waste site is now open for the year. The site will be open 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 26.
