ADDY awards winners announced
Several Bethlehem residents have won ADDY Awards from the Greater Lehigh Valley Ad Club, which is a member of the American Advertising Federation.
The ADDY is the advertising industry’s largest and most representative competition and is the industry’s equivalent of an Oscar for film or a Grammy for music. Gold winners on the regional level are eligible to compete in the national contest.
Dave Meyers of Bethlehem won a silver Addy. He and Andrew Robertson of Catasauqua, NCC Communications Design program graduates, won best of show in the professional category.
The student category winners are Bethlehem residents Susan Sewell, who won two gold awards; and Rudy Ortiz, who won a gold and a silver award.
The winners’ instructors are assistant professor Jason Zulli, adjunct instructor Traci Anfuso-Young, adjunct Professor Gayle Hendricks and instructor Mark Koberlein.

Dance concert set for April 1, 2

Peace and Justice address April 12
Moravian College’s ninth Peace and Justice Scholar in Residence, author Claude AnShin Thomas, will give a keynote address at 6:30 p.m. April 12 in Prosser Auditorium.
The Vietnam veteran, Soto Zen tradition Buddhist monk and founder of the Zaltho Foundation (http://www.zaltho.org/) will speak on “Watering the Seeds of Peace: Facing Inequality, Violence and War.”
Ordained at Auschwitz, Thomas walked from there to Vietnam on a peace pilgrimage. He walked across the United States on a similar pilgrimage. He is a mendicant monk and author of At Hell’s Gate: A Soldier’s Journey from War to Peace (Boston: Shambala, 2004).
He has assisted the development of infrastructure in refugee camps in France and is participating in peace dialogues in Colombia and in Spain.
An Evening with James Franco April 15
Actor, scholar and author James Franco will visit Moravian College for “An Evening with James Franco” at 9 p.m. April 15 in Johnston Hall, main campus.
He will discuss his path through his education and avid volunteer work that have influenced the actor he is today.
The United Student Government and the Activity Council invited him to be part of the college’s Distinguished Speaker series.
