Henry W. Rockel, 87, of Coopersburg, formerly of Fogelsville, died March 10, 2016, at home.
He and his wife Betty A. (Hunsicker) Rockel celebrated 65 years of marriage last month.
Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Harry W. and Reba (Miller) Rockel.
He worked in his family’s business, the former Harry W. Rockel Garage, from 1947 to 2007.
A life member of the Fogelsville Fire Company, he served as assistant chief and trustee.
He honorably and faithfully served his country in the U.S Army during the Korean War.
A member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Fogelsville, he served on the consistory for many years.
He was a Free and Accepted Mason, and a 32nd degree member of the Lehigh Consistory.
His survivors include a daughter, Debra A., wife of James Hoffman of Northampton; son William H. and wife, Mary, of Center Valley; sister Ruth Ann Leiby; grandchildren Steven, Emily, Kelly, Caitlyn and Alan; nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a sister Elizabeth Wagner.
His memorial service will be 11 a.m. March 19 at Keller Funeral Homes, Inc., 1018 Church St., Fogelsville.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Saturday.
