Dodgeball tournament at SHS March 17
The fourth annual Salisbury High School Dodgeball Tournament, sponsored by Student Government Association, will be held 6:30 to 9 p.m. March 17 in the new gym.
Along with the seven home teams and one SHS faculty team, last year’s champion team from Whitehall High School will attend to defend their title, as well as a second Whitehall team. In addition, teams from Catasauqua and Southern Lehigh will compete. Advanced tickets to the event are on sale at the SHS school store. Tickets will also be available at the door. No ticket, no admission. If there are any questions, students are asked to see Mr. Anderson in the school counseling office.
Thank you to all who contributed to the SGA annual coin competition and thank you to Mr. Pacitti for being a good sport and wearing the SHS Falcon costume all day after the junior class lost the competition. A total of $385.49 was donated to the charity of Mr. Pacitti’s choice: the Lewy Body Dementia Association.
Congratulations to SHS senior wrestler Alex Nicholas for finishing fourth in the PIAA Class 2A State Championships in the 285-pound weight class. Congratulations also to senior Daniel Bujcs and juniors Tyler Keller, Mahlon Reihman, and Daniel Bonge for making it to the PIAA Class AA boys swimming and diving championships. The boys swimming championships will take place March 18 and 19 at Bucknell University. Way to go guys! You’re making Salisbury proud!
There will be a 12:15 p.m. dismissal at SHS March 24. LCTI will be closed. Salisbury schools will be closed March 25 through 28 for spring break.
There will be a marching band recruitment night 6:30 to 8 p.m. March 29 in the high school auditorium.
Topics to be mentioned at the recruitment event include music and its benefits, such as multitasking, discipline and teamwork, experiences as a marching band member and more.
There will be appetizers and refreshments after the presentation as well as a photo display and sign-up station.
