ST. JOSEPH RC Church feast day set for March 19

There will be a public St. Joseph’s feast day Mass at 10:30 a.m. on March 19 at St. Joseph’s R.C. Church, 417 E. Fifth St. There will be a reception immediately following the service at Saucon Valley Acres.

The church was one of 47 churches closed in 2008 by the Allentown Diocese. The congregation, founded by Slovenians, appealed to the Vatican.

In 2011, the Vatican granted St. Joseph’s and five other churches permission to be retained as places of worship. The church may be opened for limited services, including funerals for parishioners and a Mass on the feast day of the church’s patron saint. For information, call 610-691-6480.
