William S. Mizgerd Sr., 86, died on March 5, 2016.
He was the devoted husband of Phyllis, his wife of 62 years.
Born in 1929, in Northampton, he was the son of the late Stanley and Mary (Kozero) Mizgerd, and brother of the late Tom.
A veteran of the Korean War, having served in the Air Force, he was a manager at McLellan, where he met his wife, Kelly, and Haldeman Ford, for 60 years.
He helped save jobs in the Lehigh Valley by working with the Haldemans to keep the Tilghman Street Ford dealership operating for 27 years.
He inspired son, Jim, and grandson, Andrew, both of whom currently work at Ford, as did son, Will, and granddaughter, Lindsey, who also works in the auto business.
In addition to his wife and sons Will and Jim; grandson Andrew; granddaughter Lindsey, he is survived by daughter Michelle and her husband Greg Strohl, additional grandchildren Chris, Will’s children Daymian, Isiah and BJ; Andrew’s companion, Lisa, and Lindsey’s companion, Derek.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. March 10 in St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church, 618 Fullerton Ave.. Whitehall.
His viewing will be 9-9:45 a.m. in the church foyer.
Interment will follow in Our Lady of Hungary Cemetery, Northampton.
