Michael J. Ackerman, 66, of Macungie, died Feb. 24, 2016, peacefully in his residence. He was the husband of Rosalie T. (Watts) Ackerman, with whom he celebrated 39 years of marriage. Born in East Stroudsburg, he was the son of the late Arthur B. and Lucille E. (Sheeley) Ackerman.
He worked for Allen Organ as a documentation coordinator for over 20 years, retiring in August 2014.
He was a member of St. John’s U.C.C., Emmaus, serving as a member and past president of Consistory.
He was a member of Lehigh Lodge #326, Macungie, was chairperson of Ethnic Days in Emmaus and was a former soccer coach.
He honorably served his country in the Coast Guard during Vietnam.
He is survived by his wife; son, Terry J. and his wife Alyssa, of Forks Township; daughter, Jaime R. Ackerman-Gray, of Lyons; sister, Marji, of Whitehall; grandchildren, Zayne, Dominic, Austin, Lauren, Jenna and Ryan; several nieces and nephews.
