Alumni wall of honor inductees announced

The Parkland School District Education Foundation has announced the Distinguished Alumni Wall of Honor Inductees for 2016.

The Wall of Honor, established four years ago, is inside the main entrance of Parkland High School.

Wall plaques highlight the inductee achievements and include a current photo as well as the inductee’s Parkland senior picture.

Inductees will be honored at the foundation’s Fifth Anniversary Distinguished Alumni Gala presented by Coordinated Health May 2 at the Holiday Inn Conference Center, Fogelsville.

The 2016 Distinguished Alumni Wall of Honor Inductees are:

•Denise Donatelli (Class of 1968), three-time Grammy nominated recording artists and jazz vocalist;

•Robert B. Heintzelman (Class of 1976), supervisor and co-owner, Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc.;

•Barry E. Isett (Class of 1954), chief executive officer and chairman of the board, Barry Isett and Associates Inc.;

•Aimee Mullins (Class of 1993), actress, athlete, model and TED conference ‘All-Star’ speaker; and

•D. Brad Patt (Class of 1990), senior vice president, regional manager, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Fox and Roach Realtors and The Trident Group; Lehigh Valley and Bucks County.

In September, the Parkland community was invited to nominate alumni for the Wall of Honor.

Nominees are evaluated on the following criteria: accomplishments in his or her chosen career, volunteer work or acts of service, a positive impact on people or contributions to other and special recognition or awards.

A selection committee comprised of one member from the Parkland Education Foundation Board, the school district’s administration, a seasoned Parkland teacher, a gala committee volunteer and a member from the local business community reviewed the applications and scored them using a rubric.

The five finalists were then approved by the Foundation Board of Directors.
