Albert R. Haring, 95, of Allentown, formerly of Schnecksville and New Tripoli, died March 2, 2016, in Country Meadows, Allentown, with his family by his side.

He was the husband of the late Marie A. (Shellhamer) Haring and Kathleen V. (Malone) Haring.

Born June 1, 1920, in Upper Macungie Township, he was the son of the late William P. and Susan (Dreisbach) Herring.

He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II.

A 1936 graduate of William Allen High School, he attended Allentown School of Business for his degree in accounting.

He was an accountant for the Lehigh-Portland Cement Company, Allentown, for 46 years before retiring in 1986.

A member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Seiberlingsville, he was a life member of the former Vernon G. Kern VFW Post 8344, Schnecksville.

His survivors include a son, Leslie M. of Allentown; grandchildren Krista Lenig and Allyson Ketteringham; and three great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a son, George E. and a brother, Leonard W. Herring.
