Lee to receive AAUW honor
The American Association of University Women (AAUW), Bethlehem, will present the Gateway to Equity Award to Esther Lee during a lunch ceremony on March 12 at the Best Western, Route 512.
The Bethlehem community activist was chosen for her actions and philosophy that promotion of the AAUW mission of equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy, and research.
She was, from 1971 to 1977, the first female and the first African-American school Bethlehem Area School District. director, serving until 1977. She was a vice-president of the board of directors of the Bethlehem Area Vocational Technical School. She was an officer and director of the Bethlehem Area Council of Churches, the Red Cross, the Boy Scouts of America, the Girls Club of Bethlehem (now the Boys and Girls Club of Bethlehem), the Greater Bethlehem Community Foundation (now the Lehigh Valley Community Foundation) and Channel 39.
She is the president of the Bethlehem NAACP and the Northampton County diversity committee. She is a member of the Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corporation’s Comprehensive Economic Development Strategies committee.

Guzevich initiated into Phi Kappa Phi
Kathleen Guzevich, of Bethlehem, was recently initiated into the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Membership to the nation’s oldest collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines is by invitation, and requires nomination and approval by a chapter.
Schweder named to Lycoming College trustees
Michael Schweder, Lycoming ‘71, of Bethlehem, has been named to the Lycoming College board of trustees. A 30 year employee of AT&T Mid-Atlantic States, of which he is president, he directs the corporate efforts in New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, and Washington, D.C.
He is on numerous industry boards across the Mid-Atlantic region.
He was a three term member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives and a three time president of the Bethlehem city council.
He completed an executive education program in business at the University of Michigan.
Harms named Arts Quest ed-outreach director
ArtsQuest has named Lisa Harms as the organization’s first director of education and outreach. The position, created with the support of Elaine Emrick of Bethlehem Township, will enable the organization to expand its arts-related educational programs with public and private schools and community organizations.
The position includes creating and implementing arts and education programs that tie into ArtsQuest’s regional programs such as the development of school and summer programs for K-12th grades, and educational and community programs and professional development classes.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology at the University of Pittsburgh and a master’s degree in library science from the Pratt Institute, N.Y. She was the assistant museum librarian for collections and access at the Thomas J. Watson Library, Metropolitan Museum of Art, N.Y.; and was collections manager and education coordinator for the National Museum of Industrial History, Bethlehem.

Kleintop named care manager
St. Luke’s Older Adult Behavioral Health Unit has named Jillian Kleintop, R.N., B.S.N. as its patient care manager at St. Luke’s University Hospital, Bethlehem. She is a graduate from St. Luke’s School of Nursing, Moravian College.
The OABH 15 bed unit provides specialized care for older adults with mental health issues, whose needs vary from those of younger persons.
The team consists of physicians, nurses, mental health technicians, case managers and activity therapists.
