Comedy night raises money for wrestlers

The Falcon Wrestling Club hosted a comedy night at the Fearless Fire Company Feb. 20.

The money raised will benefit all levels of Salisbury wrestling– youth, middle and high school.

Buck Nicholas, the Falcon Wrestling Club president, said the goal for the evening was to shed light on the organization and its benefits to all those in the Salisbury School District, not only to parents of kids involved in sports programs.

“This is to create awareness in the community,” Nicholas said. “I also want to keep wrestling available for kids to learn new skills and provide them with whatever I can.”

Parents from the Salisbury wrestling team donated a variety of baskets for a raffle, including a few wine baskets, one filled with toys and a coffee basket. The big ticket item of the night was a 32-inch RCA Smart TV.

Approximately 200 guests mingled and enjoyed a full buffet filled with main courses and desserts. Later, three comedians including, Joe Benko, of Bethlehem, Glen Jensen, of West Chester, and Mark Matusoff, of Washington, D.C., entertained the crowd until the close of the evening.
