Karyssa T. Schatz, 22, of Brodheadsville, died Feb. 23, 2016, in Aria Hospital, Frankford Campus, Philadelphia.

She was the daughter of Frank G. Schatz of Jim Thorpe and Joy A. (Phillips) Snyder and her husband, Eric S. Snyder, of Brodheadsville.

A group counselor volunteer for people suffering from substance abuse, she was a member of Union Evangelical Lutheran Church, Schnecksville.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by a sister, Kayla A. Howells and her husband, Matt, of Slatington; stepbrother, Ethan J. Snyder of Brodheadsville; maternal grandmother Ruth M. (Schneck) Phillips of Schnecksville; paternal grandmother Susan C. (Helferty) Schatz of Jim Thorpe; niece Lily; and nephew Cole.

She was predeceased by grandfathers Robert S. Phillips and Franklin G. Schatz.
