Northampton Community College
Poet to read for her works March 10
Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Tracy K. Smith will read from her work March 10, at 11 a.m., in the Lipkin Theatre, Kopecek Hall, Bethlehem Campus, 3835 Green Pond Road, Bethlehem Township, and March 10 at 3:30 p.m. at Room 108, Pocono Hall, the NCC Monroe Campus, 2411 Route 715, Tannersville. Smith won the Pulitzer Prize for her 2011 poetry collection, Life on Mars. Born in Massachusetts, Smith earned a bachelor’s degree from Harvard University and a master’s degree in fine arts degree from Columbia University. She was a Stegner Fellow at Stanford University from 1997-1999.
Victaulic CEO executive-in-residence
John F. Malloy, chairman and CEO of Victaulic and NCC executive-in-residence, will speak at 11 a.m. Feb. 18 in the David A. Reed community room, college center, main campus. The presentation is free and open to the public.
He has been chairman, president and CEO of Victaulic for 12 years. He earned a Ph.D. in economics from Syracuse University, where he was a National Science Foundation Fellow; and a B.A. in Economics with honors from Boston College. He taught at Hamilton College.
Begun in 1985, the EIR program is funded by Jack and Cecile Shaffer in memory of their son, Hal Shaffer. The program allows students to spend time with the area’s most successful business leaders.

Moravian College
College partners with Stratix Systems
Moravian College has partnered with Stratix Systems, a leading provider of business technology and managed services, to create The Stratix Systems Marketing Partnership. The two-fold program includes a student marketing competition and a research fellowship.
For the student competition, participants will delve into the theme differentation.
For the research section, the college will present several candidates to Stratix Systems. The recipient, who will be announced before the end of the spring term, will receive a $2500 stipend, part of which covers the cost of the full unit credit that will be earned by the Fellow.
