Parkland student wins Lehigh Valley Music award scholarship

Parkland High School’s Christina Colanduoni has been named a recipient of a Lehigh Valley Music Award scholarship to be presented by Tri Outdoor’s 17 Youth Education Scholarships.

Presenting the scholarship to Colanduoni at this year’s awards ceremony March 6 in the Musikfest Café of the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks, 101 Founders Way, Bethlehem, will be Parkland music teacher and 2015 Music Educator of the Year Grammy nominee Debra Reilly.

Colanduoni was among the many students nominated for this honor as a result of their academic achievements, involvement in their high school music departments and desire to pursue music in higher education.

A pianist, vocalist and saxophonist, Colanduoni is a member of her high school’s marching band, concert band and jazz ensemble band.

She plans to major in music education in college.

“The Greater Lehigh Valley Music Association’s commitment to celebrating the region’s musicians and music scene includes recognizing our talented emerging artists,” says Mimi Gloria, co-director of the Lehigh Valley Music Awards. “We are honored to help support these students in achieving their dreams.”

Tickets for LVMA17, presented by Tri Outdoor, in association with Chevy 21, Bethlehem Brew Works and Connoisseur Media, are on sale at steelstacks.org or by calling 610-332-3378.
