In continuation of its Bob Warke–Dale Horn Scholarship Program, Hokendauqua Park & Playground Association (HPPA) will again be awarding two $1,000 scholarships. This year marks the 29th anniversary of the group’s basketball tournament, from which proceeds are used to fund the scholarship awards.

The Bob Warke–Dale Horn Basketball Tournament will be held at Whitehall-Coplay Middle School around the end of February. Contact Mike Frana at franman69@aol.com for information on the tournament.

To be eligible for the scholarship, you must be a high school class of 2016-eligible graduate, must be continuing your education in the fall of 2016, must have participated in the HPPA’s baseball, softball or basketball youth programs and must complete the scholarship application form and return it to HPPA prior to Feb. 29. Additional requirements are listed on the application and the website, hokeypark.org.

The organization will review all of the applications and select one girl and one boy to receive the scholarships at its March/April meeting. You can download the application from the website.

AARP Tax-Aide will be at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church again this year. Appointments will continue until April 15.

To make an appointment, you must come in to the church 9 a.m.-noon on a Monday or a Wednesday.

If schools are closed because of inclement weather, AARP Tax-Aide will not hold appointment times.

Mark your calendar for March 5 and 6 when Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church holds its basket social 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Sunday. More than 100 baskets and gift cards will be available to win.

The drawing will take place 1:30 p.m. Sunday; you do not need to be present to win.

The Woman’s Club of Whitehall Township will meet 7 p.m. March 14 at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church. The program for the evening will be by Whitehall Chorale.

Members are reminded that donations of bed pillows, bath towels and wash cloths are needed for Turning Point of the Lehigh Valley.

The club also is collecting meal sides, such as rice and pasta, for the local food bank.

Join Camp Rhythmo for a spring musical theater workshop production of the famous Broadway musical “Annie.”

The production is open to students currently in first through eighth grades. All performers will be in the cast.

Rehearsal dates are 4-6 p.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays April 12-29. The final performance will be 7 p.m. April 29.
