Coplay library: Library’s Miss Jo plans Storytimes with children

Storytime with Miss Jo will be held 11 a.m. today, Feb. 25, as well as March 3 and 10.

All ages are welcome to attend. There is no preregistration.

There is still time to participate in our February program, Blind Date with a Book.

The staff will select and wrap books for you to take out. We will list the book’s category and give you some clue about its content.

Once you check out the book, you can unwrap it - and your “date” begins!

***

We now offer an adult coloring program from noon to 3 p.m. every Saturday. It’s a great way to reduce your stress level after a busy week.

The next date will be Feb. 27.

***

Join us for a leap day session of scrabble from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Feb. 29. Our experts are always up for a challenge, so drop in and try to stump them.

***

Raffle tickets are on sale for the March 50/50 drawing. The winner will be announced 4 p.m. April 9.

We also will be having a guess-the-number-of-jelly-beans contest. The winner of this contest will receive a Barnes & Noble gift card.

***

From 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. March 5, we will gather to say goodbye to one of our favorite television shows, “Downton Abbey.”

We will discuss our favorite characters and most memorable scenes from all six seasons. We have purchased some new books about “Downton Abbey,” and those will be available as well as some staff suggestions of similar books from the 1920s.

Everyone is welcome!

***

Come visit us in the library March 17 for St. Patrick’s Day. Anyone who comes in and is wearing green will receive a special treat.

***

Our spring book/bake sale will be held in April. Our preview night is 4-7 p.m. April 7. The sale will continue 11 a.m.-4 p.m. April 8 and 9.

For a per-person admission fee, you will get first pick of our selection April 7.

Also, we are currently accepting donations for the sale. All donations are tax deductible, and we send out thank you notes as a receipt.

We can no longer accept VHS tapes, encyclopedias or textbooks.

For more information on baking for the sale and donating items, call the library.

***

Our summer reading program will begin in June. It will be a great way to encourage young children to read.

Any teenagers who would like to join our volunteers group should stop by the library for an application.
