Comedy show to benefit Salisbury wrestling program

The Salisbury Wrestling Booster Club will hold its second annual comedy show Feb. 20 at Fearless Fire Company. From 7 to 8:30 p.m. there will be refreshments and a chance to socialize. The comedy show will be 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. and there will be another chance to socialize 10:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. Feb. 21. There will also be a 50/50 and a basket raffle. The Salisbury High School Class of 2017 is selling Gertrude Hawk spring candy. Orders will be taken through Feb. 22 by any member of the junior class or online at http://www.gertrudehawkchocolates.com/fund-raising. The group code to order online is 727675. Online orders will be shipped to the high school free of charge. The pick-up date for orders is the week of March 7. The Class of 2018 is selling pizzas, stromboli and desserts during the month of February to raise money for graduation activities. To order, see a member of the Class of 2018 or Mrs. Butterbaugh. Salisbury’s spring athletic physicals will take place Feb. 25 at Salisbury Middle School. Boys physicals start 5 p.m. and girls physicals start 5:45 p.m. There is a cost and cash or checks should be made payable to Salisbury Township School District and will be accepted at the physicals.

Spring physical paperwork and recertification paperwork for fall or winter athletes or team managers are available at SMS and SHS. Both physical and recertification forms are available on the high school’s website to print at home.

Registration packets for SHS’s fourth annual dodgeball tournament are available in the school counseling office.

The tournament will be limited to 15 teams and one all-star faculty team, so all registration packets and payments will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. All forms, including the team registration form and emergency forms, must be submitted to Mr. Anderson by noon Feb. 26. No teams will be accepted after this deadline. Payment must accompany a team’s forms. All teams must include a faculty or staff member, no exceptions.

The dodgeball tournament will take place 6:30 to 9 p.m. March 17 in the gym. Last year’s champion, The 4 D’s from Whitehall High School, will attend to defend their title. In addition, invitations will be extended to other area high schools. If there are any questions, students are asked to see Mr. Anderson in the school counseling office.

The Salisbury Education Foundation is sponsoring a shopping night out 6 to 8 p.m. Feb. 25 at Sage and Aquarius, The Arts Walk, 27 N. Seventh St., Allentown. Free parking is available at the PPL parking deck. Ten percent of all sales will be donated to the Salisbury Education Foundation. An informational meeting will be held at The Hook for happy hour 5 to 6 p.m. prior to the shopping event.

Learn about the SEF goals and ways to grow the mission - to support the educational and enrichment programs for the students attending Salisbury Township School District schools. Informational meeting attendees will receive a $10 voucher to Sage and Aquarius. RSVP at www.stsd.org/foundation.

The Salisbury Swim and Dive Team Booster Club is selling Salisbury beach towels. Place an order by Feb. 26 online at https://squareup.com/store/Salisbury-Falcon-Beach-Towel. The Salisbury Athletic Booster Club is selling car magnets. Magnets may be purchased in the SHS athletic office, the HST main office, the WSE main office or the administration building.

The SHS junior class is selling Dan Schantz Greenhouse fundraiser cards. These cards offer one free item every month for a year-plus extra coupons. Some items include a free large bouquet, free half dozen roses and free 10 inch hanging basket.
