Marjorie J. Richter, 91, of Bethlehem, died Feb.12, 2016, in St. Luke’s Hospital. Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Emma (Smith) Lengel. She was the wife of the late Leslie C. Richter for 35 years.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in art education from Kutztown University.
She was an art teacher in the Bethlehem Area School District for 37 years before she retired in 1982.
She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church.
She also belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star, Allentown; the Mountainville and St. Catherine’s senior centers; and Delta Kappa Gamma. She was a volunteer in her younger years.
She is survived by a son, Vaughn of Bethlehem; a brother, Jerome and his wife Kathryn Lengel of Wyomissing; a sister, Shirley Dieffenbach of Williamsport; three nieces; and a nephew.
