Schools in session Feb. 12

As pretty as all the snow was, I’m very happy the vast majority has melted. However, as a result of the snow the township schools have added several make-up days to the school calendar.

The first of these is Feb. 12. All Salisbury Township School District schools will now be open and in session on this day.

All schools in the district will be closed Feb. 15 in observation of the Presidents Day holiday.

The Salisbury Wrestling Booster Club is sponsoring a comedy night Feb. 20 at the Fearless Fire Company. There is an admission charge. Doors open 7 p.m. Show time is 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. For tickets or more information, contact Buck at 610-762-0104 or order online at jcpentertainment.com.

Students at Harry S Truman Elementary School will have a class picture day Feb. 22. There will be information coming home soon.

Oh I dread this next upcoming event....I had a minor panic attack the first time I saw it on the calendar. What am I talking about? Kindergarten registration....yes, I join all you parents sending those little cherubs off to kindergarten in the fall.

Western Salisbury Elementary School will hold its registration 9:30 a.m. Feb. 24 and HST will hold registration 9 a.m. Feb. 25. More information is available on the district website. If you know of a family new to the district with little ones, let them know these dates.

A school board meeting will be held 7:30 p.m. Feb. 10 in the administration building.

There will be a curriculum and technology meeting 7 p.m. Feb. 29 at Salisbury High School.

The Salisbury High School Swim and Dive Team Booster Club is selling beach towels. Orders can be placed online at squareup.com/store/Salisbury-Falcon-Beach Towel by Feb. 26. The SHS Theatre Department will present its spring musical, “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” 7 p.m. March 3, 4 and 5 and 3 p.m. March 6.
