Geraldine Marie Reynolds

Geraldine Marie Reynolds, of Emmaus, died Feb. 2, 2016, at her home. Born in Lebanon, she was the daughter of the late Luke R. and Sara S. (Kauffman) Grubb.

She graduated from Penn State University in 1963 with a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education. She started her teaching career in New Castle, Del. (1963-1966). Subsequently, she taught at the Frankfurt International School, in Frankfurt, Germany (1966-1967) and two different school districts in Bowling Green, Ohio (1968-1971). In 1971, she relocated to Emmaus where she became a full-time mother and, later, a part-time substitute teacher in the East Penn School District.

She was an active member of The First Presbyterian Church of Allentown, serving on several committees and governing bodies. Many will remember her as the first smiling face they saw coming off of an airplane and landing in a new country; she had a true passion for mission work and nourished it by helping refugee families from various countries adjust to a new way of life in the United States.

She was a devoted mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend who loved to travel, collect shells on the beach, laugh with her family and give great big hugs.

She is survived by daughter Kathy and her husband Tom Blozy; daughter, Jeannine and her husband Robert Alter; grandsons, Jake and Luke Blozy; granddaughters, Tessa Blozy, Sadie and Emma Alter; brother, Luke K. and sister-in-law Ann Grubb; sister, Kathryn Grubb Schmidt; niece, Meredith DiBona; nephew, David Grubb. She was predeceased by a nephew, Philip Grubb.

Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Heifer Fund International at 1 World Avenue, Little Rock, Ariz., 72202; Villages in Partnership at P.O. Box 52, Allentown, N.J. 08501; or Lehigh Presbytery Worldwide Ministry, 710 N. Cedar Crest Blvd., Allentown, 18104.

A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Feb.13 in The First Presbyterian Church of Allentown, 3231 W. Tilghman St., Allentown. Arrangements were made by the J.S. Burkholder Funeral Home, Allentown.
