David L. Naus

David L. Naus, 76, of Orefield, died Feb. 4, 2016, in his home.

He and his wife, Nyda J. (Williams) Naus, would have celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary in June.

Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Robert L. and Elsie (Moyer) Naus.

A 1957 graduate of Allentown High School, he was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War having earned the rank of technical sergeant.

After attending Temple University, he was a production manager at various manufacturers until retiring in 2009.

A former member of Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church, Allentown, he was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church, Allentown, where he served on its council, sang with the choir, served as a Sunday School superintendent, and was a 12th Night participant.

He was also a member of VFW Post 12099, the Allentown Barbershop Society, the Summer Harmony Men’s Chorus and Sentinels Drum Corps, and participated in numerous local theater productions.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, David J. of Emmaus; daughter Debra J. Stevens and companion, Gary E. Green of Alburtis; granddaughters Lauren T. and Rachel P. Stevens; step-granddaughter Katrina M. Green; sisters Bette Kramm and husband, Wayne Merkel of Whitehall, Susan Dengler and husband, H. Lee of Goshen Ind.; nephews; nieces; and cousins.
