Coplay: Dispose of expired medications

The borough hall lobby, Fourth and Center streets, has a MedRX return collection unit for disposal of expired medications.

Accepted items are over-the-counter prescription medications and samples, vitamins, prescription ointments, pet medications and prescription patches.

Not accepted items include syringes, needles, sharps, medications from clinics and businesses, lotions or liquids, aerosol cans, inhalers, hydrogen peroxide and thermometers.

A reminder that Coplay Sports, Inc. will hold its final baseball and softball sign-ups (for ages 5-14) 6-7:30 p.m. today, Feb. 11, at the field house, Potter Alley.

Scheduled meetings for the borough’s organizations include:

• Coplay Lions Club, 7:15 p.m. Feb. 15, at Coplay Saengerbund

• Ironton Rail Trail Oversight Commission, 7 p.m. Feb. 16, at Whitehall Township Municipal Complex

• Coplay Senior Citizens, 1 p.m. Feb. 17, at Commitment to Family and Community

• Coplay Town Watch, 7 p.m. Feb. 17, in council chambers at Coplay Borough Municipal Building

• Coplay Athletic Club, 10:30 a.m. Feb. 21, at the borough hall weight room

The deadline for submitting applications to the borough for pavilion cleaner and pool manager, both seasonal positions, at the borough’s Parkway Pool is Feb. 26.

The deadline for lifeguard submissions is March 18.

Applications can be picked up at the borough hall.

Coplay Recreation & Welfare Association will hold its annual Easter egg hunt 1 p.m. March 26 on the grounds of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Fifth Street. No registration is required.

Roger Rabbit will be present to have photos taken with children.

The event, which dates back to the 1950s, is one of the longest running programs for children in town.
