WESTERN SALISBURY COLUMN School make up days announced
As much as I loved the blizzard and the beautiful snow that falls, I do not enjoy having more school days to make up.
Due to the two days we had off for the storm, Salisbury schools will now be in session June 13 and 14.
Salisbury Township School District is holding a free community workshop on the iPhone, iPad and iPad touch. From 9 to 10 a.m. Feb. 9, residents can come to the administration building and learn basic features, FaceTime and some useful tips and shortcuts. Register in advance at www.stsd.org/workshop.
Western Salisbury Elementary invites all parents and guardians to have lunch with their third grade student Feb. 9. Third grade lunch starts 12:25 p.m. Now, I tried this last year and didn’t have any takers, so I will give it one more shot. I monitor third grade lunch and French fries are my favorite. Just saying.
Salisbury High School is having a scheduling night 6:30 to 8 p.m. Feb. 9. in the high school auditorium. This is for parents of current eighth to 11th grade students and guidance counselors will discuss course selection for next year and graduation requirements. Representatives from each SHS department will be on hand to discuss course offerings. If you have any questions or to RSVP, email Gail Zapf at gzapf@salisburysd.org.
There is a school board meeting 7:30 p.m. Feb. 10 in the administration building.
Salisbury Township schools will be closed Feb. 15 to honor Presidents Day. Please remember we do have school Feb. 12 as a whooping cough make-up day.
The planning commission of Salisbury Township will hold a meeting 7:30 p.m. Feb. 9 at the Salisbury Township municipal building.
Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church will hold a community breakfast 8 to 11 a.m. Feb. 13. A donation is suggested. All proceeds benefit the 275th Anniversary Celebration.
