Marianne Margaret Esposito, 82, of Macungie, died peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones January 20, 2016, after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of Anthony A. Esposito. They were married 54 years in November. Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late John and Augusta (Mier) Curley.
She was a 1952 graduate of Myers High School and attended Kings College. As a young adult she was the assistant city clerk for the city of Wilkes-Barre. She was also president of the Young Women’s Republican Club of the Greater Wilkes-Barre area where she hosted many fundraisers and charity events. She worked as an administrative assistant for the Department of Highways District 50 and then was a dedicated 38-year employee at Josh Early Candies.
She was a founding member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Allentown and was a member of the St. Thomas More Women’s Guild.
She is survived by her husband; daughter, Amy, of San Francisco, Calif.; sister, Claire Carson, of Levittown; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Scott; daughter, Ann “Annie” and nine brothers and sisters.
