Donald P. Fatzinger

Donald P. “Buddy” Fatzinger, 89, also known as “Fatz,” “Donnie” and “Dusty”, died Jan. 30, 2016, in The Lutheran Home at Topton.

He was the husband of Hilda G. (Anthony) Fatzinger.

Born June 29, 1926, in Bethlehem, he was the son of the late Paul W. and Ellen L. (Gable) Fatzinger.

He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy as a machinist mate during World War II.

Employed at Stanley Vidmar, Allentown, before retiring, he previously worked at the former Bethlehem Steel Corp. and Hunsicker’s Motorcycle Shop, Aquashicola.

He was a former member of the Allen O. Delke American Legion Post 16, and the Zinc City Motorcycle Club where he enjoyed participating in poker runs.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter Donna Paula Fatzinger at home; sister Lucille “Reds” Kuntz of Topton; brother-in-law George Yehl of Georgia; daughter Brenda of El Paso, Texas; grandchildren; great-grandchildren and numerous cousins. He was predeceased by siblings Jean Yehl and Dalton Fatzinger.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Feb. 4, in Slatington Baptist Church, 509 Main St., Slatington, with the Rev. James W. LeVan officiating.

Family and friends may pay their respects 12:30-1:30 pm. Thursday in the church.

Interment with military honors will follow the service at Union Cemetery of Slatington.
