Donald E. Hoosier, 91, of Whitehall, died Feb. 1, 2016, in Phoebe Home, Allentown.
He was the husband of the late Bernice R. (Kocher) Hoosier.
Born March 8, 1924, in Whitehall Township, he was the son of the late Elmer and Marguerite (Geiger) Hoosier.
He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a flight engineer during World War II.
He was a welder for the former Caloric Corp., Topton, for nine years before retiring.
Prior to that, he worked at the former Bethlehem Steel Corp. for 12 years.
He was a member of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Whitehall, and of the Hokendauqua American Legion.
His survivors include children Gary J. Sr. and his wife, Linda, of Alburtis, Eugene D. and his wife, Pat, of Wescosville, Connie M. Zuber of Treichlers; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Feb. 8, at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Catasauqua, with the Rev. Msgr. Daniel J. Yenushosky officiating.
There will be no calling hours.
