Catherine Marie Smith, 92, of Mertztown, died January 17, 2016. She was the wife of Kermit S. Smith. They were married for 66 years in November. Born in Krocksville, she was a daughter of the late Joseph H. and Clara M. (Krixler) Kratzer.

She partnered with her husband in produce sales at the Allentown Farmers Market until her retirement. She previously worked at Royal Manufacturing and at Vultee Aircraft.

She was a member of Zion Lehigh Lutheran Church, Alburtis and the auxiliaries of Trexlertown Fire Company and Breinigsville/Macungie Veterans of Foreign Wars.

She is survived by her husband; son, Stanley K. and his wife, Carol, of Mertztown; grandchildren, Shannon and her husband William Peter Wanko, Stacey and her husband Kevin Brennan, Stanley, Jr. and his wife, Stephanie; great-grandchildren, Cailin, Patrick, Maggie, Jakob, Hannah, Mackenzie, Reagan and Luke; son, Richard Krause and his wife, Pat, of Lititz, and their two children and their three grandchildren; brother, Eugene Kratzer and sisters, Althea Barker and Shirley Hower. She was predeceased by two brothers and five sisters.
