Nancy C. Huff
Nancy C. Huff, 85, of Orefield, died Jan. 22, 2016, at home surrounded by her loving family.
She and her husband Robert H. Huff were married 65 years.
Born in Stamford, Conn., she was the daughter of the late Gerald and Esther (Chittenden) Hays.
She and her husband settled in Huntington in 1953 where they built their home and raised their family.
Once the children were raised they relocated to Worthington, Mass.
When her husband retired they moved to Wilmington, N.C., because of her love of the ocean.
As they aged, they decided to move closer to family and landed in Orefield.
In addition to a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and sister, she had many interests including baking, gardening, painting, crocheting and sewing.
She was a perfectionist at everything she did.
Her sense of humor always made everyone laugh and they could not help but smile when she entered the room.
She belonged to the Norwich Hill CB’s (a community benefit organization) where she participated in many theatrical performances at the North Hall.
She and her husband would host the after-production celebrations at their Tucker Road home.
She was an active member of the Norwich Hill First Congregational Church where she also sang with the choir.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Chandler Schieb and husband, Michael, of Chicopee, Mass; sons Gary of Chester, Mass., Dana and wife, Lynn, of Oxford, Conn., and Randall and wife, Judy, of Fogelsville; grandchildren Cameron, Evan, Maura and Kirsten; sister Beverly Keeney of Huntington, Mass.
She was predeceased by brother Donald Hays of Azusa, Calif.
