Coplay: Follow these tips for snow removal

With one snowstorm in the books for the winter, residents are reminded by the borough about ways to handle significant amounts of snow. Instead of shoveling your sidewalk before plows come back to the streets for second plowing (to get even closer to the curb), residents can wait to shovel their sidewalks until after this time.

Residents should not shovel or blow snow back onto plowed streets.

If a fire hydrant is located in front of your house, it should be cleared for fire department personnel’s access.

If you have a driveway, please use it to park your vehicle. This allows plows to get right up close to the curb. This also will save you time and the trouble of digging out your vehicle surrounded by mounds of snow.

For the younger folk, moving about is usually more fun, as they grab their sleds to glide down the snow-covered hill on the west side of the borough parkway, North Second Street, which attracts large numbers children and their parents.
