Matthew John Stitzer

Matthew John Stitzer, 58, of Allentown, died Jan. 21, 2016. Born in Mahanoy City, he was a son of the late H. Peter and Lois (Hinkle) “Kizzy” Stitzer.

He was a 1975 graduate of Mahanoy Area High School. He earned an associate in applied science degree from Lehigh Carbon Community College and attended Kutztown University.

He worked for the Yogurt Factory in the Lehigh Valley Mall and was currently a microbiologist for Kraft Food. He worked part time at the Bayleaf Restaurant, Allentown, and was a bartender at the Stonewall Bar, Allentown.

He was a tour guide in Historic Bethlehem. He was a youth group coordinator and was on the festival functions committee for Mayfair, Allentown, for several years. He acted in community theater with the Pennsylvania Playhouse in Bethlehem and the Theater Outlet and Civic Theater, Allentown. He was a founding member and a 15 year board member of Fighting AIDS Continuously Together

He is survived by a twin brother, Mark of Allentown; a sister, Susan and her husband George Ball of Mahanoy City; a nephew, Joshua and his wife Allison Ball; three nieces, Vikki Buffington (Craig), Amanda Sheppton and Noelle Stitzer; and five great-nieces and great-nephews.
