Parkland High School was placed on locked down after a red alert was initiated 1:30 p.m. Jan. 15.
According to South Whitehall police, a special needs student was unaccounted for.
During the lock down, no one was allowed to enter or leave the building or classrooms while school district administration, support personnel, and South Whitehall Police School Resource Officer Thomas Bammer conducted a search to locate the student, who was subsequently found safe.
Shortly after 2 p.m. the lock down was lifted and the normal school schedule was resumed for the rest of the day.
