Did you know SMS has an online newspaper? I ran across it this morning as I was perusing the middle school website. It is student written and very well done. Check it out sometime.
The Salisbury High School junior class is selling Dan Schantz Greenhouse fundraiser cards. The cards entitle the owner to one free item a month. Some of the items include a large bouquet, a half dozen roses and a 10-inch hanging basket. Sounds like a good deal to me. To purchase your card, see a member of the junior class or email Mrs. Wilson at swilson@salisburysd.org.
For SHS seniors, the deadline for submitting your senior portrait and baby pictures to be included in the yearbook is Jan. 30. Any questions concerning this may be emailed to the EYAS staff at shspress@salisburysd.org.
Jan. 22 marks the end of the second marking period for the high and middle schools and the halfway mark of the school year.
Western Salisbury Elementary PTA has a change to their schedule. The Outback Steakhouse family night Jan. 29 has been canceled and in its place is a Louie’s Restaurant fundraiser. From Jan. 24 through 29, eat at Louie’s and they will donate 20 percent of the check to WSE. This includes dine-in or take-out. You will need to show the restaurant a fundraiser flyer which can be obtained by either picking one up at the school or emailing the PTA president at marci_stappung@hotmail.com. She will email the flyer to you and you can use it right from your phone. Louie’s is owned and operated by a WSE family.
On Jan. 29, Salisbury Township schools will have an early dismissal. The high school and middle school dismiss 12:15 p.m. and elementary schools dismiss 1 p.m.

As a huge Harry Potter fan, my quote this week is in memory of Professor Snape.
“When I’m 80 years old, I’ll be reading Harry Potter. And my family will say to me, ‘After all this time?’ And I will say, ‘Always.’” Alan Rickman
