Thomas “Ted” Kirkman Hardy Jr., 85, of Kirkland Village and formerly Springtown, died Dec. 27, 2015. Born in Ridley Park, he was a son of the late Thomas and Ruth Melissa (Lukens) Hardy. He was the husband of Barbara (Johnson) Hardy for 61 years.

He graduated from Penn State University with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.

He was in the U.S. Army Signal Corps.

He worked in the sales department and was a marketing manager of the Bethlehem Steel Corporation for 31 years. He was in sales with Phoenix Forging for eight years prior to his retirement.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Thomas K. and his wife Linda of Springtown and Donald L. of Alameda, Calif.; two daughters, Karen J. and her husband Robert Klosowski of Skaneateles, N.Y. and Julia A. and her husband Stephen Lis of Chalfont; and four grandchildren, Kaitlin, Adam, Daniel and Michael.

He was predeceased by two older brothers.
